A partnership deal was inked between Suzhou New District (SND) in East China's Jiangsu province and an innovation institute at a talent promotion fair in Japan in Tokyo on Aug 26, with the aim of increasing talent pools for both sides.
Luring high-caliber professionals and innovative technological projects, the event attracted 200 Chinese overseas students, scientific researchers, and representatives from relevant associations.
With the fast-paced changes in technology constantly reshaping the global innovation landscape, the new district will leave no stone unturned to gather innovative resources worldwide and accelerate the process for introducing high-caliber professionals, especially overseas Chinese, said Xu Meijian, vice mayor of Suzhou.
Ruan Xiangping, minister-counselor of China's Embassy in Japan, hailed the deepening partnership between China and Japan in areas of scientific and technological innovation, energy reservation and high-end manufacturing.
He said that the signing of the deal is of great significance for the cooperation between China and Japan and the embassy will give its full support to the recruitment activities of high-caliber professionals in SND.
Meanwhile, a high-caliber professionals liaison office in Japan was also launched at the event, amid efforts to build a platform for startup businesses and to facilitate recruitment exchanges between the two sides.
Over the years, SND has become a hotspot for innovative platforms, with a number of institutes in emerging industries, including information technology, biomedicine and new energy having stationed in the district.
To date, the district boasts a total of 25,000 high-caliber professionals and 57 national Thousand Talents Program experts.
